It was a pleasant afternoon at Shawnee Books & Toys yesterday as I visited with a few curious people who stopped by. Didn’t do much in the way of selling, but I enjoyed the company. Slant of Light sets several of its opening chapters in Kansas, but I’ll have to admit to feeling less sure of myself in my descriptions in that section — they were mainly taken from lengthy research into original sources and only a little direct observation. Thankfully, none of the Kansans I’ve talked to yet have found any glaring errors.
