A while back I mentioned Damming the Osage: The Conflicted History of Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Reservoir. My review of the book came out this morning in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. You can find it here.
A sad but instructive note: the Post-Dispatch was once upon a time the undisputed queen of newspapers in the lower Midwest, and vied with the Chicago Tribune for the unofficial title of most influential newspaper in the central United States. When I moved to Columbia in 2010, I immediately tried to subscribe to the P-D, as I had done whenever living in the Midwest, only to find that outstate delivery subscribers are no longer accepted by the Post. Apparently we are no longer worth the cost.

Great review!
Too bad the P-D doesn’t seem able to grow with the times. If postage is too much for them to handle out-of-state subscribers, I doubt they will thrive.
